Every doctor's surgery in the land has several otoscopes knocking around, sometimes more than one in a single room. BUT using the device to examine the ear can be channelling for medical students when you first pick it up. As realistically the ear exam will be the first time many students have done an invasive procedure on a patient, the ear examination can be quite a challenge, however with understanding the anatomy of the ear, and how to move the otoscope, very quickly students grasp the use of this simple clinical skill #EarExamination #DrGill #ClinicalSkills
