おくりびと《Memory》from “Departures” by 久石讓 《送行者-禮儀師的樂章》『cover by YoYo Cello』

'Departures' was a Japanese Movie released in 2008. At first, it doesn't get much attention but netizens praise a lot for this movie and finally the ticket selling reaches a good result of Seventy million USD worldwide. This movie is also the first Japanese Movie that got Oscar's Best Foreign Film and also won the Montreal World Film Festival. In addition, it also won the Best Film Award, Best Director Award, Best Screenwriter Award, Best Male Actor and many more, which in total 98 awards no matter in local or worldwide. This movie is roughly about a young man who returns to his hometown after being a failed career as a cellist and he lastly work as a nokanshi (traditional Japanese ritual mortician). As time goes on, he becomes comfortable with his profession and also appreciate the value of his job. Lastly, he uses the cello to express this piece of life. In the movie, the expression is interpreted delicately and death is given with a new definition. The melody of this piece which is written by Joe Hisaishi even subslimate the atmosphere of the film. Besides, this cover has a special guest. I've invite a musician, 陳宥文 to do some rearrangement of this song. The quiet and calming tone of the piano even gradually increases the broad tone of the cello.
