The Spinning Wheel

This piece was writen a long time ago. I was tuning up a student's zither at the beginning of a lesson and once done I checked the tuning by playing a few chords. By chance, I hit upon the opening line of this melody which I completed in the following few days. The relentless up and down motion is reminiscent of a spinning wheel.
