These include what he referred to as “electromagnetic weapon detection systems.” These next-generation surveillance systems are able to detect if a person is carrying a firearm, and can also allegedly distinguish a gun or a knife from something like a smartphone. These systems are being deployed amid rising crime and growing threats of terrorism.
