Origami Pop It! ๐Ÿ”ด๐ŸŸ ๐ŸŸก๐ŸŸข๐Ÿ”ต๐ŸŸฃ DIY Simple Dimple

JeremyShaferOrigami
[Simple] How to fold an origami version of the viral bubbly toy called Pop-It! or its close relative Simple Dimple - how to make a simple dimple with paper. From just a square of paper this DIY Simple Dimple is also a chomping mouth and blow spinner. The origami Pop It Template that I featured in the video can either be bought for $1 on my website here: https://jeremyevents.com/shop/ols/products/popit-template , or if you become a member of my channel you can print the template from on my Community Tab. Here is the link to become a member: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2OQxWDDE71D6AKrNa7XygQ/join Alternatively you can just draw on the circles and decorate the rest of the paper to taste. You can experiment with using different weights of paper. Cardstock, kami and printer paper all work well. Notes about tessellating this model: Folding multiple Pop-its from one paper works well when you fold two side-by-side using a 2X1 rectangle (or dollar) or if you fold many side-by-side along a long rectangle, but it doesn't work so well when you tessellate it in all directions like you would if you used a square. There's another rather complex pop-it model (I designed with one of my students during a zoom session) that works well tessellated in all directions. 2021 Pop it has taken the internet by storm, especially on tiktok under the hashtag #popit and I have seen first hand at fairs how popular pop-its are. What's surprising to me is that there isn't any recognition of popits on Wikipedia. So I guess that means I, Jeremy, am more popular than Pop-It! (just kidding). So Push Pop Pop bubble to your hearts content! The real Pop It shown in the thumbnail has happy faces that I drew on so that I can throw it to partygoers and they can pop a face and throw it back. It's a fun game and a simple way to keep track of about how may people I've thrown it to. You can draw happy faces on your origami popit too and call it a Happy Poppit. If you fold the chomping mouth as I showed in the tutorial, you can call it a Poppit Puppet! #popit #OrigamiPopIt #JeremyShaferOrigami This Pop It is simple to fold. So you can accurately call it DIY Simple Dimple! It can also spin, so you can call it "Pop Top!"... and it's probably the top Pop Top on your table top! ABOUT THE MEMBERS ONLY SATURN CUBE DEMOED IN THE INTRO I decided to make this a members-only model because I haven't made a members-only tutorial in over a month and because this model sprouted from requests during members-only livestreams. To explain in more detail, Origami Saturn was one of the models requested in the July Members-Only Livestream (Eastern, I think). I failed to design it during the livestream, and after the livestream I continued trying to design a Saturn for about 5 hours and finally gave up. Saturn was again requested in this most recent August livestream and I didn't even attempt to design it knowing how difficult and elusive it had been for me. But then that night in bed before going to sleep, I miraculously managed to figure out a good Saturn in about 10 minutes! It was from a 2X3 rectangle and involved the 2-Interlocking Rings lock. Later I figured out how to make it from a square instead of a rectangle and I used that extra paper to connect the flaps using a simpler but slightly less strong lock. In the earlier versions of this Saturn Cube I experimented with blunting the corners of the cube to make it into a cuboctahedron which yielded a more round realistic-looking Saturn, but that step was overly complicated even when I tried making precreases, so I elected to just show the cube, which I find more aesthetic, and people seem to like cubes.
