[Low-Intermediate] Chameleon Ring / Magic Hexagon REVEALED! 😲 How to fold and perform a Pure Origami Magic Trick -- The Hexagon Changes Color! Origami Magic Demonstration and Tutorial! This illusion requires only a square sheet of paper whose front and back are colored differently. This trick is an pure origami adaption of the Magical Honeycomb 2021 by Tenyo Magic Tricks, and according to one magician here https://youtu.be/jeBFQt6T0yY?t=179 Magical Honeycomb is a revival of an old trick made for children, but I couldn't verify that. There is no cutting or taping in my video here, but in the video where I first saw this trick https://youtu.be/LkR0HyIW1pQ there was cutting and gluing, which, as you may know, I'm personally not so fond of, but I loved the trick, so I sat down and figured out how to fold the magic hexagon from one square of paper using pure origami. I really like how it came out because the thickness of the paper gives the hexagon a substantial feel and helps make it pop up into a hexagon instead of remaining flat. The slight white that shows up on the edges of colored ring does not raise suspicion because in most origami models a little bit of white regularly shows between the layers of colored flaps. This model is not that easy, especially the part where you lock it by sticking the flap inside the pocket. If you have trouble making it, you might try just following the cutting and gluing method I linked above. It's easy to accidentally flash the other color which might reveal to you audience how it works. So, performing the trick takes practice to perfect. It's probably good to practice it in front of a mirror. Besides being a cool magic trick, this model also jumps when you press on one corner of it as I showed at the end. In fact, it jumps so well that you might consider wearing safety glasses to protect against it jumping in your eye. If you fold it from smaller paper, it could be worn as a ring. For storage it can lie flat, but I would recommend storing in flat no by folding on the border between color and white, but rather on one of the other two positions, because you don't want the model to lose its spring.
