Paul Antonio: " Just after writing my manual on Copperplate Script, I decided I wanted to do a systematic analysis of the letters found in the English Roundhand period, rightly 1600 to 1925. I wanted to start with the resource materials I have here in the studio. So much got in the way and eventually, I shelved the project. All my classes got canceled and suddenly I found that I had time on my hands. So I picked up the project again as I needed something meaty I could sink my teeth into to help to reignite my excitement of letterforms. I will put these in alpha order but for now, I will simply show you the research I have been working on. Some of the letter variations are truly exquisite. Coupled with this I have made some amazing discoveries not only about letter shape and morphology but also about how writing worked in the period.
