Texas Sheriff Andy Louderback said sanctuary jurisdictions create obstacles for law enforcement to catch criminals. Sometimes, the only enforcement tools available to catch violent gang members, are federal immigration laws, he said. "It may be the only violations that we have in law enforcement to correct the situation in that particular house where MS-13 is located," Louderback said in an interview on Feb. 12. So when politicians create sanctuary laws that prohibit local law enforcement from communicating and cooperating with ICE, public safety is at risk.
