Miracle Cat That Survived Getting Impaled on Fence Is Back Home

Tom Ozimek
A miracle cat has returned home less than a week after becoming impaled - on three metal fence posts. Skittles was found skewered on the on 8-ft-high railings on March 9, but after being rushed into surgery and undergoing three operations, the cat miraculously survived. And now SWNS reports that four-year-old Skittles has returned home to Shanakei Forde in Neasden, north London. "He's been keeping to himself really and sleeping a lot because he's on a lot of medication," Forde said. The mother-of-two said she couldn't believe that Skittles survived the ordeal. "When I saw the pictures I couldn't believe my eyes, I didn't believe that was him - it was so shocking. "It's a miracle that he survived - three poles went through him but he was still very alert. "He's a tough cat anyway, he's so friendly and loving, and he goes up to everyone on our estate. Shanakei is now hoping to raise funds for Skittles' surgery, as he is not insured and bills have run to more than £3,000 ($4200). The page has raised £215 so far, and any extra cash will be donated to the RSPCA. Credit: SWNS
