North Korean delegation including cheer squad, taekwondo athletes and journalists attended a welcoming banquet hosted by the South Korea's Unification Ministry on Wednesday (February 7) ahead of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. A group of 280 North Koreans arrived on Wednesday morning in South Korea, one of the largest peacetime crossings of the inter-Korean border, to spur on athletes from the two sides at the Winter Olympics. The delegation celebrated its first night in South Korea with a banquet at their hotel, dining on roasted scallops, steak, beef marrow soup and shrimp wrapped in thinly sliced radish, according to a pool report. Head of North Korea's cheer squad O Yong Chol made a speech at the banquet and said that the delegation's visit means the opening of the era of reconciliation and cooperation. Credit: Reuters
