Chimpanzees Hug Caretakers on Chimpanzee Island in Liberia

For many years, these chimpanzees were used for biomedical research that helped develop treatments for a variety of ailments, including hepatitis. When their lab got shut down in the mid-2000's, the chimps were taken to a series of islands in Liberia to live out the rest of their lives, while being taken care by caretakers such as these.
