Precious Footage of Tiny Bear Cub Shared by Australian Animal Rescue

Petr Svab
A bear rescue in Stirling, Western Australia, provided a glimpse of a new baby bear cub recently rescued by the organization. Free the Bears posted a video on their Facebook page of one of their latest rescues, a female sun bear cub. The baby bear was rescued on Saturday, March 17, and weighs only about 3 pounds. According to the Facebook post, the bear is under 24-hour care and is fed seven times a day. The cub can be seen in the video being taken out of her cage and attempting to move around. The organization is asking for donations of cub care kits, which consist of special formula, towels to keep the cub warm, and hot water bottles. Sun bears live in Southeast Asia. They grow up to be less than 60 inches long and less than 180 pounds of weight, making them small among bear species. They have a notable V-shaped pale mark on their breast. Because they're threatened by hunting and deforestation, the bears are marked as vulnerable on the Red List of Threatened Species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources.
