Four members of a family of five died in a boating accident on Lake Superior on Aug. 30. Eric Fryman, Cary Mews-Fryman, and their three children were kayaking when the boat flipped. Everyone was wearing life jackets. The family was separated by 4-foot waves. Cary Mews-Fryman was rescued after several hours in the water. The bodies of her family members were recovered that night and the next day.
