Facebook has removed 583 million fake accounts in the first quarter of 2018.
Those fake profiles accounted for about a quarter of the social network’s entire user base.
According to Facebook's vice president of product management, 6.5 million fake accounts were created daily during the first three months of 2018.
But most of those accounts were disabled within minutes after being flagged as spam.
Facebook estimates that 3-to-4 percent of their 2.2 billion accounts are not real users, implying that their platform has 66 million fake accounts.
