Moment knife-wielding shoplifter raided an off-teaserlicence before being tackled by hero customers-teaser.mov

This is the moment a knife-wielding hooded shoplifter raided an off-licence before being tackled by hero customers as he made his getaway. Garry Tyrell, 26, has since been jailed for the knifepoint robbery after being pinned by three male shoppers. The drama unfolded when Tyrell entered Gilberts Newsagents in Rotherham., South Yorks., armed with a large kitchen knife. CCTV footage shows him waving the blade in the face of a terrified 62-year-old female shopworker before demanding cash from the till. As the thief attempts to flee the shop, one brave customer pushes a trolley towards Tyrell which forces him to run down one of the aisles. After a brief struggle and with the help of two other members of the public, Tyrell was apprehended, disarmed and held before police arrived.
