Shift Change on Space Station as Three Crew Members Head Back to Earth

Three residents of the International Space Station finished their mission on Tuesday, February 27. and prepared to return to Earth. NASA's Mark Vande Hei and Joe Acaba, and Roscosmos commander Alexander Misurkin handed over command to Roscosmos Anton Shkaplerov before closing the hatch and undocking from the station. On Monday, Shkaplerov thanked the crew for their efforts, which spanned 168 days in space. NASA says that following the departure of the outgoing crew members, Shkaplerov, NASA's Scott Tingle, and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's Norishige Kanai will crew the station until three more members arrive on March 23.
