Several injured as hot air balloon makes hard landing in Australia

Several people were injured after a hot air balloon made a hard landing in Australia's Yarra Valley on Thursday. Police on the scene said the passengers were thrown from the basket as the pilot attempted to land. Emergency services treated the passengers at the scene for back and neck injuries, before sending seven to hospital. Six of the hospitalised were over 50, one was in their 20s. Officials say the hot air balloon took off at 0700 local time (2000 GMT Wednesday ) from Glenburn and traveled approximately 15.5 miles before heavily landing 20 minutes later at Dixon's Creek in the Yarra Valley, 37.3 miles.
