Teacher Claims She Was Fired Over 'No Zero' Grading Policy

A teacher claims she was fired for giving ‘zero’ grades when students didn’t hand in their work. Diane Tirado claims that a Florida school had a policy that no grades should be below 50%. The Port St. Lucia school board denies having a ‘no zero’ policy. A note on a grading sheet says, “NO ZEROS- LOWEST POSSIBLE GRADE IS 50%” The school board said she was on a probationary contract that ended after a month.
