2018-04-05 18:48
Maisie Catt from the UK began taking Para Taekwondo earlier this year. Para Taekwondo is a Korean martial art adapted for athletes with an impairment. She has been excelling at it since she started in January. So much so that she will be representing Great Britain at the Paralympics. Maisie had her legs amputated as a baby after contracting meningitis. Since 9 mo., she has walked with prosthetics and only recently did she get blades. Officials with the GB talent squad noticed her skills and asked her to try out for the Paralympics. [[Maisie Catt, GB Representative in Taekwondo at the Paralympics]] “So I was learning the pattern, the first time learning the whole of pattern 1 and they called me and they gave me a piece of paper that said “Well done, you have been chosen for the Paralympics talent squad.” She'll now train with the squad every month.
