Meat testing- A fifth of samples reveal unspecified animals' DNA

Some contain DNA from up to four different animals. Some may not even be the meat on the product’s label at all. Test results were collected by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) in 2017. The product most affected was mincemeat, with cow the most commonly-found unlabeled meat type. Ready-made meals such as curries and pizzas were also found to be affected.
