UK Police Officer Finds Unusual Way to Clear Ice From Car Window

Petr Svab
A police officer in Dorset, UK, has found an efficient if unusual way to clear ice from the window of his vehicle—smashing it with a headbutt. He first opened the window from inside, leaving the sheet of ice intact. He then smashed through it. A spell of cold stormy weather has seen layers of glassy ice cover car windows, roofs, and cars in general. Police advised drivers to clear the ice from their cars. “Don’t forget to fully clear your windows before you set off. But maybe not the same way as Inspector Whitley,” they wrote. Dorset Police posted a video of Whitley's stunt on Facebook, where it's been shared thousands of times. "One of the basic requirements for being a good Police Officer is to keep a cool head whatever the situation!" commented Rob Evans. Credit: Dorset Police via Storyful
