Military Mom Surprises Son

NTD

A Texas preschooler gets the surprise of his young life... his military mom, home early from deployment overseas. 4-year-old John Chapman filed into his school's cafeteria, expecting nothing unusual. He was among students being honored for hard work for this school year. But he got more than just an award. He got his mother, Marina. John Chapman: "I saw my mom and I hug her very fast on the stage to run." Marina Chapman: "Thinking don't cry, keep it in... keep it in…I did a fairly good job about it but... it was there." The military mom has been overseas since December. She was able to come home early to surprise her son on his big day. Marina Chapman: "I know growing up, my mom, she did that for us and once I joined the military, I wasn't too sure whether or not I'd be able to have the same experiences with him. So I'm definitely happy to have been able to come out and see him get some awards. John Chapman: "My mom went to the airport 100 days and that was too much for my mom."
