Plant that causes 3rd degree burns, blindness found in Virginia

A dangerous plant is invading Virginia. This plant is perilous to handle and difficult to kill. Giant hogweed can cause severe burns and even blindness. Its sap can leave skin so sensitive, exposure to the sun will cause 3rd-degree burns. The effects can last for years. Cutting the plant can spray the sap. If the sap hits your eyes you could be blinded for life. Digging out the roots is the best method to kill it.
